KANSAS CITY, Mo. ? New research finds a combination approach works best in quitting smoking.?? Researchers looked at 40 different studies and found that taking medication and receiving behavioral counseling is most effective.

Medication includes nicotine replacement or prescription pills.? You are 70 to 100 percent more likely to quit using a combination of medication and counseling compared to someone who receives no treatment.
