Mercer University Atlanta now offering public health degree

ATLANTA -- Mercer University's Atlanta campus will begin offering a public health degree for working adults this summer.

The Master of Public Health program is scheduled to roll out in August 2013.

"The program is ideal for the student who wants to continue working part-time or full-time and complete her or his degree within a reasonable time frame," Dr. Nannette Turner, director and chair of Mercer's Department of Public Health, said in a statement. "We will offer evening classes, online classes, hybrid and distance learning options, all designed with the professional student in mind."

Turner said Mercer also plans to create and expand more health sciences programs, such as occupational therapy, in the near future.

Mercer University Atlanta is located near Interstates 85 and 285 in DeKalb County.
