Nokia Begins Rolling Out Windows Phone 7.8 to Older Lumia Devices

It?s never easy being an early adopter and, in the case of Windows Phone, finding out devices like the excellent Lumia 900 weren?t getting Windows Phone 8 was definitely maddening. But, lo and behold, Windows Phone 7.8 is finally available for Lumia owners, here to guide them back into the current generation.

The update is currently rolling out to those running Windows Phone 7.5, Nokia said, bringing such features as Live Tile resizing, additional lock screen options, and child proof lock screen security, among other features.?

Additionally, the update will introduce improvements specific to the Lumia line, including Internet sharing, imaging enhancements, and new apps like Contact Share, Play To and Nokia City Lens.

The roll-out is ?operator dependent,? Nokia said, so be on the lookout for notifications through February.
